[BTR] Locked to Torchwood Chicago, and to Martha Jones

So, something identifying itself as the Kashtta Tower showed up on the journal networks, writing a locked entry to Martha, a bit ago. I have a few questions about this, as I can imagine Martha does, too.

Mercury, could this tie into the journal experiments you've been doing? Failing that, Owen, Mio, anything you've heard from the Tower's directions which might shed some light?

using my phone to tag... horribly slow

Is it even possible for a Tower to be sentinant? I've been reading through files and obviously its behavior isn't normal, but sending messages?

Is it even possible to disguise oneself using a journal or is it like a fingerprint?

As far as I'm aware, I am the only one with the capability of masking identity over the journal networks. As you can see, the name does not properly show up on this comment.

I can assure you, however, this is Mercury.

I have been doing work on forging identity, but the process is very complicated and not sure-fire yet.

Considering Dr. Harper's connection with the tower, I would assume that with its journal it must have some sort of sentience. It would fall along with the research I'm doing.

But -- no, I'm afraid that wouldn't be my doing, Captain. Would you like me to take the journal in for testing?

i wouldn't spend too long down there.

well what definitition of sentient are we using, ianto? intelligent, possessing will and self-awareness? definitely shows will and some sort of awareness. you want to question its intelligence go ahead.

That sounds delightfully nonspecific. I remember the days when my biggest worry was the Hub running out of coffee and the team turning into metaphorical zombies...

That and the end of the world. So you've been studying the Tower and it's fond of Owen?

So there's an actual journal in the basement pretending... or is the bloody Tower?

I dislike not knowing everything about our base anymore. Feel a bit intellectually neutured,

Apparently it's attached itself to you. That in of itself shows a lack of intelligence.

I haven't been here long enough to understand the rest of it.

Have they published any papers? I'd love to look at some of their research.

I know I would not have been able to get to where I am without Toshiko Sato's research.

How long is too long?

I'm afraid I don't need to study the Tower to be aware of how attached it is to Dr. Harper.

Owen does have specific charms. Certain types are magnetically drawn to him.

i like to call them 'types with good taste'.

Types with a sado-masochistic streak, maybe... or those that enjoy your witty pickup lines.
