For the moment I won't question your peculiar interest. The reasoning is far less sinister than you make it out to be: several of the board of advisors at the Sydney Jasper clinic, including myself, feel that rather than having anyone attempting to build over the Rifts, or having private citizens or corporations calling in electricians or other assumed experts, we should preserve them out of public sight until such time as an authority capable of dealing with them comes to our attention.
Most of the openings, in any case, are small and largely inactive. Very few would even allow a single person through. Hardly apt material for a power play.
