An addendum –
Daniel, Revan, there's probably something you should know before you hit the ground with me.
My morphogenic imprint is tied into the Time Vortex – which is a lot of technobabble to say that basically the universe "resets" me if anything drastic happens to me, physically. Functionally, this means that I can recover from otherwise mortal injuries like a bullet to the head.
Apparently John Hart knows this, and he just might take advantage of it. So, don't worry if the first thing that happens on this mission is that I get killed. It really won't be as serious as it seems.
